See the HCC website on Gull Coppice for its wildlife and history.
Our initially daunting monthly work to widen the paths is now looking good. Pictures by Jenny. |
Work started in 2016 on an ambitious goal of re-surfacing a long winding path through the woods, making it more accessible and with better sight-lines. Thanks to Jenny for the pictures. |
Widening the path here meant taking down various overhanging trees, with a good fire of course. Thanks to Jenny for pictures. |
We return to continue with work on the woodland rides, to widen them for the benefit of woodland flowers and butterflies.
Meet at 10am at the car park at Whiteley Community Centre. This is on a road called Gull Coppice, left off Yew Tree Drive if coming from J9 on the M27. Gull Coppice (the work site) is on the other side of Yew Tree Drive. Look out for our yellow signs.
